THE Zimbabwe Women’s Premier Soccer League (ZWPSL) has taken a significant step forward in its mission to promote and develop women's football in the country with the appointment of a new ad hoc committee for marketing and sponsorship.

The committee, chaired by ZWPSL vice-chairperson Dumisani Sithole, comprises a dedicated team of individuals passionate about women's football. With Platinum Royals chairperson Chido Chizondo deputising Sithole, the committee also includes Ntokoziso Moyo, Judith Tinarwo, and Lewis Muzhara.

The appointment comes ahead of the league's resumption tomorrow, and ZWPSL chairperson Theresa Maguraushe is confident the team will drive the league’s marketing and sponsorship efforts forward.

“We are excited to announce the appointment of this talented and dedicated team, who will drive our marketing and sponsorship efforts to new heights,” Maguraushe told the Independent Sport.

The ad hoc committee has been tasked with promoting the ZWPSL and securing sponsorship deals to support the growth and development of women’s football in Zimbabwe.

“With their combined expertise and passion for the sport, the committee is well-equipped to take on this challenge,” Maguraushe added.

“The appointment of this committee is a testament to ZWPSL’s commitment to promoting and developing women’s football in Zimbabwe. As the league continues to grow and evolve, we are confident this committee will positively impact our game.”

The ZWPSL is the top-tier women’s football league in Zimbabwe.

Maguraushe added that fans can expect a new level of excitement and energy surrounding the league as it resumes on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the season kicks off with a blockbuster encounter at One Commando, where last season’s runners-up, Black Rhinos Queens, face champions Herentals at 11am tomorrow.

Herentals pipped Rhinos to the title by a single point last season. At The Heart Stadium, Maningi Youth Soccer Academy hosts Sheasham Gweru Queens. In Bulawayo, newly-promoted side Mpopoma Sports Academy will play at home against Highlanders Royals in a city derby.
