2025 Masvingo Golf Tournament

ALL is set for the highly-anticipated 2025 Masvingo Golf Tournament, scheduled to take place at Masvingo Golf Club between April 12 and 13.

The competition will be open to both men and women registered with the HNA, making it a fantastic opportunity for local golfers to showcase their skills.

Zimbabwe Golf Association administrator Tirivashe Nheweyembwa (pictured) said the 2025 golfing season for the Masvingo Amateur Tournament “is very significant because the tournament is sanctioned by the World Amateur Golf Ranking, and it will be played by those wishing to compete over 54 holes”.

“The 36 holes will be played on Saturday, followed by 18 holes on Sunday, which is the final day of the tournament. We will also have recreational golfers who will only play 18 holes on Saturday and another 18 on Sunday,” he added.

The tournament is important for golfers, as those who complete 54 holes will earn points on the Order of Merit and World Amateur Golf Ranking.

The last edition of the tournament was won by Gweru-based golfer Lloyd Dube, who has since turned professional.

He won the previous two editions.

The 21-year-old defended his title with a level-par score after three rounds at Masvingo Golf Club in April last year.

Dube carded 71, 73, and 72 for a gross total of 216, finishing 10 strokes ahead of his nearest rival, Tafadzwa Ndaruza, who managed 75, 79, and 72 in the two-day tournament.

Kelvin Muchenje finished in third place, one shot behind Ndaruza.
