Nomads Mashonaland successfully held its annual golf day last week at the Country Club Harare.
There were 116 players comprising 105 Mashonaland Nomads, three prospectives, seven guests, and one visiting Nomad.
The Country Club game was proudly sponsored by Alpha Media Holdings.
It was a four-ball alliance game, which means it competed in teams of four and followed the Stableford format.
This format is a great platform for competitive players to demonstrate what they can do under pressure and those that succeed earn valuable World Amateur Golf Ranking points.
"Every month we have an event such as this one at which all Nomads come together with a guest or visiting Nomads from other provinces, so it is not a singular event and we don't play at one course. We go from one course to another so by the name Nomads means we are nomadic, we are a club but we don't have a fixed club," Nomads Mashonaland captain Enos Mbofana said.
"Nomads playing year runs from December to November so we play 12 games for the year and we fundraise throughout the year and the vice-captain chooses the beneficiaries."
"Last year l was the vice-captain and l had four beneficiaries targeted for assistance: Matthew Rusike Children's Home, B.S Leon Trust, Island Hospice and Healthcare as well as KidzCan," Mbofana said.

Nomads Mashonaland vice-captain Innocent Chikwata said that the money that they give towards the club on the day they play golf goes towards helping the club meet the cost of running the course and keeping it clean.
"My charity golf day is going to be held on October 5 at Royal Harare Golf Club and l have set a target of cash collection in terms of donations of US$60 000 but we also collect in kind because we have Nomads who will want to donate items rather than money," Chikwata added.
