Adventure tour operator Wild Horizons have expressed delight for being one of the sponsors of the FBC Elephant Hills Open which took place in Victoria Falls last weekend.

FBC Holdings Group were title sponsors for the fourth year in a row while Wild Horizons and Ingwebu chipped in support of the Africa Sun golf event.

One of the country’s top amateur golfers Michael Wallace won the tournament for the first time in his maiden attempt after shooting overall 1 – over par 217 after 54 holes at Elephant Hills Golf Course.

Wallace carded 73, 73 and 71 in the two day event.

“On behalf of the Wild Horizons board and directors I would like to say that we are excited to be here and to be sponsoring the Elephant Hills Open. Wild Horizons believes in partnerships and we decided that we wanted to make sure we partner with African Sun,” business development and corporate affairs director Barbara Murasiranwa-Hughes said.

“We work with African Sun here in Victoria Falls and we have got a win-win partnership because we don’t want to have the relationship of a horse and a ride where one is galloping and the other one is enjoying the ride. They are an accommodation institution and we are an activity institution

“Wild Horizons is big and we employ about 700 people just in Victoria Falls but we are also in Zambia, Botswana and Cape Town. We are the biggest insurer and one of the biggest foreign currency earners in Zimbabwe when it comes to photographic tourism.

I have always come home to support and be there but I think next year I will be playing,” she said.

Wild Horizons owns and operates Victoria Falls activities including White Water Rafting, Zambezi River Cruises, Chobe Day trips, Helicopter Flights and more.
