Zimbabwe golfers Scott and Kieran Vincent ended life on the LIV Golf League on a high following their relegation after finishing second and fourth in the season ending Team Championships in Dallas on Sunday.
The two siblings were relegated from the LIV Golf League after failing to work their way out of the drop zone in the final individual competition of the season in Chicago last week.
Scott’s team, Iron Heads GC, who went into the Team Championships as the lowest ranked side out of 13, were close to completing a Cinderella story as they tied for second place after a very impressive weekend.
Iron Heads accounted for top seeds Crushers GC in the semi-finals on Saturday, booking a place to compete with eventual winners Ripper GC, 4Aces and Kieran Vincent’s Legion XIII in the final.
Legion XIII finished in fourth place on 6 – under par, five shots behind winners Crushers who managed 11 – under while 4Aces and Iron Heads could not be separated on 8 – under overall.
The LIV Golf Team Championship which had a US$50 million purse saw the winners walk away with a US$14 million cheque, while the runners up got US$7 million each and fourth the fourth place won US$4 million.
As is the case in LIV Golf, 60% of the prize money goes to cover the team expenses and 40% is shared equally among the four team players.
It means that Scott added US$700 000 to his season’s earnings in the competition last weekend alone while Kieran made US$400 000.

Overall, the older sibling made no less US$3 million on the circuit this year while Kieran’s season’s earnings amounted to over US$2,2 million.
It was Scott’s second consecutive season in the Saudi-backed golf franchise but 50th place finish was not enough for him to extend his stay in the lucrative golf league.
The younger of the two brothers, Kieran was in his debut season in the LIV Golf League but struggled for form and could only settle for an overall 54th place to join his brother on the relegation list.
But it is not all over for the two golf siblings in LIV Golf as they are scheduled to take part in the LIV Golf Promotions later this year where three slots into next year’s LIV Golf League circuit are up for grabs.
Kieran qualified for the LIV Golf League after going through the Promotions competition last year.
Of interest is the fact that the Vincent brothers decided to enter a partnership with local cancer organisation KidzCan Zimbabwe dubbed ‘Birdies for a better tomorrow’ where they pledged to donate US$500 for every eagle they shoot in their competitions and US$200 for every birdie made.
Last week, KidzCan Zimbabwe earned US$ 4 300 from the two siblings’ performance at LIV Golf Chicago after Kieran sank 11 birdies and an eagle while Scott made 11 birdies.
For Team Championships, Scott cut his hair as a way of commemorating the kids cancer awareness month and raising funds for KidzCan.
“Today I am cutting my hair that I have been growing for the past three years. September is kids’ cancer awareness month all over the world,” he said.
“Since partnering with KidzCan I have learnt so much about this and there a so many warriors out there that are fighting for their lives.
“I hope that this would bring some awareness and also help raise funds for this organisation that does so much for the kids that are in need. Please join me if you feel called to do so.
“KidzCan Zimbabwe is a non-profit organisation dedicated to providing lifesaving treatment to children battling cancer in Zimbabwe.
“This cause is close to my heart and together we can make a difference. Very bit of support helps give these kids a fighting chance,” he said.
