FC Platinum have been silently conducting their business ahead of the 2024 season that kicks off on Saturday next weekend.

FORMER Warriors star striker Kelvin Mushangazhike has tipped FC Platinum to reclaim the PSL title in the upcoming season, arguing  that 'their silence means business'.

FC Platinum have been silently conducting their business ahead of the 2024 season that kicks off on Saturday next weekend.

Unlike, the other big guns, the Norman Mapeza coached side did not pounce on high profile players, who were available on the transfer market.

They made several signings that were headlined by Mbongeni Ndlovu, formerly of Highlanders.

The four-time PSL champions also signed midfielder Brighton Manhire who was also in Bosso's books.

Pure Platinum Play also lured Herentals star midfielder Davison Marowa. Marowa who was one of the top performers throughout his stay at the club.

To reinforce their midfield, they also roped in Shepherd Mhlanga from Chicken Inn.

They replaced goalie Petros Mhari with David Bizabani who spent last season in Green Fuels' books. Bizabani will compete for the number one jersey with the duo of Wallace Magalane and Francis Tizayi.

The other signing is Bothwell Nzori, who was signed from Northern Region outfit Black Mambas.

Mapeza  promoted two players from the club's developmental side, Tapiwa Revesai and Anesu Chirinda. Most recently, they added Felix Moyo to their ranks.

And Kelvin Mushangazhike who had an impressive stint at Dynamos in the early 2000s, reckons FC Platinum will excel this season.

"I think they have been the most silent teams this year. They have been doing their business in silence. For me, noone must underplay their silence. "The lessons learnt last year are going to be crucial for them this season," he said in an exclusive interview with Standardsport.

"Their signings are modest, but they fit well in the team for example Mbongeni (Ndlovu) and Davison Marowa.

"To be honest, they are the silent favourites. Their squad is easy to underrate but they are a team to watch and I think they will bounce back stronger this season," Mushangazhike added.

Last time out, FC Platinum ended the season on fourth position, with Ngezi Platinum winning the league title.

It will be interesting to see how Norman Mapeza's new signings have adjusted, and how the team will do without the likes of Gift Bello, Gift Mbweti and Petros Mhari.

Bello and Mhari retired while Mbweti parted ways with the club following the expiry of his contract.

It has been one of the busiest preseasons with a majority of the clubs going out of their way to beef their squads.

Simba Bhora have been one of the biggest spenders during this transfer window while champions Ngezi Platinum Stars, Dynamos, CAPS United and Manica Diamonds have done  some good business.

Yadah FC made a huge statement of intent with their capture of former Warriors talisman Khama Billiat and are reportedly angling for more marquee signings.
