A HARARE man appeared at the magistrates courts facing allegations of theft of trust property involving US$68 000.

Kudakwashe Takawira (33) was remanded out of custody on US$200 bail by Harare magistrate Patricia Kamwanda.

Takawira was ordered to report every week at CID commercial crimes, and to reside at the same address.

The complainant is Khumbulani Supply Chain represented by its director Tawanda Muchineripi.

Prosecutor Rufaro Chonzi said sometime in June 2021, Muchineripi employed Takawira as the business development officer.

Takawira's role was to market company products and to assist with administration issues.

The contract was specifically for the period from 22 June 2021 to May this year.

During the same period Takawira sold goods worth US$68 000 to various customers across the country.

He, however, converted the money to his own use.
