‘Zim needs new leaders’

Election

A recently launched political party, United Zimbabwe Alliance (UZA), says Zimbabwe needs new leadership to improve the welfare of the country’s citizens.

UZA president Elisabeth Valerio said Zimbabweans have been through difficult times due to government's failure to adhere to its constitutional mandate.

“Our nation has been plagued by challenges emanating from gross mismanagement, lack of constitutional compliance, failure to adhere to the rule of law and corruption,” Valerio said in an interview.

“The current policy reforms have not improved the economic standing of the country let alone the lives and general wellbeing of the ordinary Zimbabwean.”

Valerio bemoaned the persecution of political opponents and government critics citing the continued incarceration of opposition legislator Job Sikhala.
