CULTURE WARRIORS dance group from Mufakose, Harare, has won the Chibuku Neshamwari Traditional Dance Festival's provincial finals.

The provincial finals were held over the weekend at Padziva in Dzivarasekwa.

Culture Warriors’ energetic dinhe performance impressed the judges, earning them a spot at the national finals and US$2 500 prize money.

Shingai Dance Troupe and Villa Kutinyu Nyau Club came second and third places, respectively.

This is Culture Warriors' second attempt at the national championship title, having previously competed in 2017.

The group is confident this year will be their year, vowing to bring the grand prize back to Harare.

With 15 members, Culture Warriors has a long history of preserving dinhe dance and other cultural traditions in Mufakose.
