ECOBANK Zimbabwe (Ecobank) is constructing a new head office in Harare, reinforcing its long-term commitment to the local market.

A subsidiary of the pan-African banking group, Ecobank Transnational Incorporated, headquartered in Togo, Ecobank entered the Zimbabwean market in 2011 as part of its southern African expansion strategy.

Since then, the bank has steadily grown, providing corporate, retail, and digital banking services nationwide.

Despite Zimbabwe’s economic challenges, Ecobank has remained resilient, leveraging digital banking innovations and expanding its customer base.

Speaking during a site visit of the new headquarters, Ecobank Zimbabwe managing director and Southern African Development Community head Moses Kurenjekwa emphasised the bank’s dedication to growth and development.

“Since entering the Zimbabwean market in 2011, Ecobank has steadily grown its footprint and relevance,” Kurenjekwa said.

“This new head office is a symbol of our commitment to infrastructure development and service excellence.”

He said the new facility was designed to enhance operational efficiency, foster a collaborative work environment, and demonstrate the bank’s commitment to sustainability.

“This building is designed to serve both our employees and the community, setting a new standard for environmentally responsible banking,” he said.

Beyond modernising its headquarters, Ecobank aims to make a broader economic and social impact.
