Professional golfer Stuart Krog  (pictured)finished as the highest ranked Zimbabwean on the Sunshine Tour Order of Merit following the conclusion of the season DNi Tour Championship presented by RMB at the Blair Atholl Golf and Equestrian Estate on Sunday.

Krog did not participate in the DNi Tour Championship presented by RMB, the season-ending event, which was won by South African Michael Hollick.

Interestingly, Hollick ended the current Sunshine Tour season in the same way he started it, with a victory in the FBC Zimbabwe Open in Harare back in May 2024.

Krog finished in 59th place with 315.56 points after taking part in a total of 20 events on the Tour throughout the season.

His best performance was a tie for 7th at the Mopani Open in Zambia and 15th at VOG Shishen.

Robson Chinhoi finished as the second-best local on the Sunshine Tour in position 71 with 249.90 points.

Chinhoi is a winner on the Tour after he won the Zanaco Open in Zambia in 2023, but found the just-ended season a bit too tough with a best finish of 13th at the Sunbet Challenge WildCoast and 14th at the Fortress Invitational.

The 33-year-old golfer took part in a total of 25 events throughout the year.

Ben Follett-Smith finished one place behind Chinhoi in 72nd overall, despite participating in just nine events, while he managed a top 10 placing after he tied for 6th place at FBC Zimbabwe Open last year.

Follett-Smith, who was competing on the Challenge Tour, also went on to take 12th position at SDC Open in January.

Other Zimbabweans competing on the Sunshine Tour include Promise Sombreiro (143), David Amm (149), Mohammad Mandhu (153), and Pride Sembo (155).

Daniel van Tonder was also crowned the winner of the Sunshine Tour Order of Merit delivered by The Courier Guy for the 2024/25 season, and Altin van der Merwe won the Fortress Rookie of the Year award.

The leading three professionals on the final Sunshine Tour Order of Merit delivered by The Courier Guy who earned their DP World Tour cards (not already exempt) are Van Tonder, Jonathan Broomhead, and Yurav Premlall.

That could change with Van Tonder in a position to earn a DP World Tour card through the HotelPlanner Tour this season already, in which case his card would move to Hollick as the next highest ranked non-exempt player.

As the winner of the Order of Merit delivered by The Courier Guy, Van Tonder also receives exemptions into The Open and US PGA Championship as well as the Nedbank Golf Challenge.

He also earns a R500 000 bonus, the use of a Hyundai Palisade for one year, and a seven-night international cruise worth R75 000 courtesy of MSC Cruises.

As the second-place finisher on the season standings, Shaun Norris receives a R200 000 bonus and the use of a Hyundai Tucson for one year.

Dylan Naidoo, the third-place finisher, receives a R100 00 bonus and the use of a Hyundai Exter for one year.
