ZIMBABWE shockingly failed to chase down a measly winning target 102 runs to surrender their five match T20I series after an eight-run defeat against Namibia in the final match in Windhoek yesterday.
The Chevrons lost the five-match series 3-2, having led 2-1 after three matches.
After restricting Namibia to 101 all out in 18.4 overs, what appeared to be a routine chase turned to a horror show as the Chevrons stampeded to return to the pavilion.
Zimbabwe were four wickets down for just 12 runs after 4.4 overs. Innocent Kaia (1), Craig Ervine (0), Wessly Madhevere (4) and Sikandar Raza (2) were all out in their respective order early in the chase.
Nick Welch (23), Ryan Burl (19) and Clive Madande (16) showed glimpses of hope to the team but all departed soon leaving Zimbabwe on 82/7 after 17.4 overs.
The match was seemingly tilted in Zimbabwe's favour with 20 runs needed from 20 balls despite losing wickets in a cluster.
Luke Jongwe was at the crease and ruling the roost but he was runout for 24 runs having faced 16 balls at 18.5 overs.
At that point the Chevrons were on 93/9, needing nine runs from seven balls off the last wicket. Ainsley Ndlovu departed for three runs as Zimbabwe were wiped out for 93 runs.

The Zimbabwe bowlers had come to party for the first time in the series bowling out Namibia for a measly 101 runs inside 18.5 overs in the final T20I against Namibia in Windhoek yesterday.
Pace bowler, Richard Ngarava was in no nonsense mood taking two quick wickets in 4.1 overs.
Ngarava had Michael van Lingen caught by Wessly Madhevere for a three-ball duck and the score on 0/1.
Namibia captain, Gerhard Erasmus departed on the first ball of the fourth over, caught by substitute fielder, Tinashe Kamunhukamwe for Ngarava’s second wicket.
With two wickets for six runs in three overs, Ngarava had done his job leaving his fellow bowlers to carry on with the torch.
All-rounder Raza was the pick of the bowlers with four wickets for 16 runs from four overs including a caught and bowled effort to dismiss Jean-Pierre Kotze.
Tendai Chatara cleaned the tail to end with three wickets for seven runs from 3.4 overs, while Burl took one.
