The villagers from Mbondweni in Ward 4 now want the bar closed.

Villagers from Insiza in Matabeleland South are blaming a bar situated near a secondary school for what they say is growing antisocial behaviour by young people, including learners.

The villagers from Mbondweni in Ward 4 now want the bar closed.

“The night club is a hub for criminal activities, noise pollution, and disorderly conduct,” the villagers said in a petition addressed to the local authorities.

“The proximity of the night club to Lubuze High School and residential areas poses a significant threat to our children's well-being and safety.

“We will write petitions to local authorities and law enforcement agencies to revoke any existing licenses and permits.”

They said the night club has brought an influx of prostitutes into their community.

Insiza Rural District Council  chief executive officer, Shepherd Tshuma, said his office was investigating the matter.

“l saw the ultimatum being circulated on social media, but l haven’t received an official report from them,” Tshuma said.
