BULAWAYO Polytechnic has signed a memorandum of collaboration on staff exchange programmes with a Namibian college, Ongenga Technical College.

The memorandum was signed at the Bulawayo Polytechnic on Wednesday, where the Namibian institution was represented by its executive director and co-founder, Elia Haufiku.

“There are programmes that we want to implement and they are relevant to our needs back home. We also want to have a staff exchange and student exchange programme,” Haufiku told Southern Eye on the sidelines of the event.

“There are so many areas for collaboration that the memorandum is considering. As an institution that is just four years old, we do not exist in isolation.”

He praised Bulawayo Polytechnic for producing a number of Namibian graduates.

“This institution has produced several graduates back home and they are doing so well. So having followed their story, we then saw it fit to seek collaboration with the polytechnic,” he said.
