ZIMBABWEAN South Africa-based rapper and television personality Nadia Nakai will this year be one of the main acts at Shoko Festival, set to run from September 26 to 28 in Harare and Chitungwiza.
Shoko Festival, the country’s longest-running urban culture festival, on Tuesday announced the headline acts for its 14th edition.
Also set to be the main acts are Afro-pop fusion artiste Tamy Moyo and Zimdancehall star Master H.
This will be Nadia Nakai’s homecoming performance, while Tamy Moyo will be making her second appearance at the event, having performed there in 2016.
“Zimbabwe’s biggest urban culture festival returns for its 14th edition with a star-studded line-up in Harare and Chitungwiza. Running from September 26 to 28, this year’s Shoko Festival first round of headline acts brings together Nadia Nakai, Tamy Moyo and Master H,” Shoko Festival announced on X (formerly Twitter).
“South Africa-based Nadia Nakai’s stage presence oozes the aura of royalty, matched perhaps only by her skills as an MC. A diverse rapper, you can bank on Nadia to bring formidable force-to-reckon-with energy, standing out on posse cuts like Ragga Ragga and Naaa mean. Both songs were anthems on the South African hip-hop scene and this year, Nadia brings all that and more (so much more) in her homecoming performance at Shoko Festival 2024. A must-see set. Nadia Nakai will be headlining Mash Up Nights at Harare Gardens on September 27.”
Shoko Festival said Zimdancehall’s newest rising star, Master H, was also expected to electrify the stage.
“His breakout anthem, Dhanzi, established him as one to watch and ever since, the artiste has been proving just how much more he has to offer. His journey to stardom has been exciting to watch, with the latest hit being Kelly Kelvedhura.
